MSL is sustained by two primary sources of revenue: tuition and fees and contributed donations. Thanks to sound sustainable business practices, tuition and fees consistently cover 80% of the costs associated with delivering a high quality education for our students. We rely upon our generous community of parents, grandparents, friends and community partners to provide support that meets our remaining need.

MSL’s cornerstone fundraising initiative is the Annual Fund. This drive is used to solicit from each family whatever financial gift is feasible within its personal situation. Any contribution is meaningful. MSL is respectful of the fact that some families may not be able to contribute the suggested per family annual donation of $250. That is why we encourage each family to reach out to relatives and friends who also have an interest in MSL’s success. This may include grandparents, friends who are considering MSL as an option, corporate partners, or those who simply want to see MSL thrive in the Louisville community.

A capital campaign is a special effort to raise funds for long-range purposes, such as building projects and endowment. This is distinct from our Annual Fund Drive and school PTO fundraisers. MSL’s current students, as well as future students, benefit from capital campaigns. Donors should view their donations as an investment in MSL’s long term mission and vision. During a capital campaign, families are encouraged to continue to donate to the Annual Fund which supports ongoing academic programs at MSL.
Planned gifts recognize your belief in the future of Montessori School of Louisville and the desire to support Montessori education for future generations. By including MSL in your estate planning through a bequest, life insurance policy, fund, trust or other planned gift, members of community have the opportunity to impact the future.
Gifts may be directed to a designated area of interest, program, or learning environment.
Montessori School of Louisville also treasures the time and talent within our community. Parents are provided opportunities to donate their time and talent in many ways: volunteering with material making or serving on a committee, as a room advisor, field trip chaperone, reading volunteer, and more. We believe “it takes a village to raise a child” and welcome the partnership between home and school.
